Join us at Z Space this month for the unveiling of Dani Robison's series «Glass Body».
«My intent here is to merge the sublimity of church windows with the depravity of smashed liquor bottles. These bodily abstractions explore the polarities between the sacred and profane, the shattered and whole, illustrating the interrelationships between dysphoria, depression and addiction. They depict the somatic experiences of transparency, fragmentation and alienness. While the surface of the glass is passive, representing openness and emptiness, when it is struck by light it becomes rich and dynamic. My hope was to maintain solemnity without wallowing in bleakness.» — Dani Robison
