Registration is open!
Eric Arons SF Recreation League is a beginner friendly Ultimate hat league, meaning individuals register to be placed on teams. The mixed league sells out extremely quickly for men.
Note that the registration fee does not include a team shirt or disc. Due to increased field costs this summer, the league decided not to provide discs and shirts in an effort to keep registration fees as low as possible.
FREE Skills Clinic
The league kicks off on Wednesday, June 21, with its skills clinic. The clinic is free of charge and open to all players, including prospective players interested in registering for the league. The clinic will run from 7:00pm — 8:30pm at San Francisco's Golden Gate Beach Chalet Fields, and it will focus on skills and drills that players and teams can use throughout the season to develop. Following the skills clinic, the fields will be open for pickup, and players are encouraged to stick around to play and meet players in the league.
Everyone is encouraged to attend; however, everyone must pre-register to sign participation waivers.
Note that players already registered for Eric Arons San Francisco Recreational Summer League don't have to separately register for the clinic, and that clinic registration doesn't guarantee access to the league if league registration is full.
The league offers a mixed division, with a 4:3 gender ratio format.
Level of Play
Eric Arons SF Recreation League is a great way to learn Ultimate. Every season we have a blend of experienced players and first-time players. The focus of the league is on education and fun – winning is secondary.
Spirit of the Game
The Eric Arons SF Rec. League is a beginner friendly league; therefore spirited play is critical. To reward and recognize spirited play, there is a weekly and seasonal spirit winner for each team. The seasonal winners get priority registration to an upcoming season of league (to be used within 12 months). If you would like to use a spirit award, please contact the league director when registration is announced. We cannot add people to teams after registration.
Please complete the financial aid application if you are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford fees for participation in a Bay Area Disc program. Bay Area Disc has limited funds to distribute in financial aid and will not be able to fund 100% of all applicants’ requests. Please be mindful of this when making requests. A committee consisting of the Bay Area Disc's Executive Director and Manager of Adult Programs will review your request and inform you of their decision. Applications should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start date of the program.
