THE LONGEST RUNNING POETRY SLAM ON THE WEST COAST!
Bringing you some of the best poetry from across the world every week since 1999, and third in the nation at the 2015 National Poetry Slam!
This week, our feature is our very own 2016 Grand Slam Champ, Mike Taylor!
Mike Taylor has been performing spoken word for 12 years on a handful of national teams. The only thing he enjoys more than writing poems is eating shrimp tacos. In 2011 Mike founded SPARC Poetry, a non-profit organization that teaches slam to middle school kids. Their poems are much cooler than his. Mike's writing centers around on normal life things that people can both relate to and laugh at. He also believes in poetry as activism. He also believes in fairies. Clap, don't let Tink die, clap.
Your guest host for the night is Nazelah, with house band Three Blind Mice!
