Thread Heads: New Bay Area Fiber Art
October 14 — November 25, 2017
Juried by: Marion Coleman, Karen Hampton, Tali Weinburg
Artists 18 years old and over who live and/or work in the nine Bay Area counties are eligible to apply. This exhibit is open to all fiber art. For the purposes of this exhibition, fiber art refers to fine art whose material consists of natural or synthetic fiber and other components, such as fabric or yarn. It focuses on the materials and on the process as part of the works' significance, and prioritizes aesthetic value over utility. Techniques such as quilting, embroidery, knitting, crochet, weaving, and felting are welcome as long as the final work communicates a message, emotion or meaning beyond just the literal meaning of the object.
Digital entries are due by August 20 at 5pm and are to be submitted via Slideroom with a fee of $10 per artist.
