Mariska Hargitay is best known for her role as Lieutenant Olivia Benson on the show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which has earned her multiple awards, including an Emmy. She has been on the show since its premiere in 1999, and has appeared in numerous other television shows, movies, and music videos, including Taylor Swift's video for her single “Bad Blood.” In 2004 she started the Joyful Heart Foundation, which supports survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Most recently, Hargitay produced the HBO documentary I AM EVIDENCE, which investigates the national crisis of untested rape kits, an issue that Hargitay has been interested in through her Law & Order role, for which she trained as a rape crisis counselor. The documentary is set to be released in early 2018.
