THE WOODCHOPPER'S BALL
The Woodchopper's Ball, named after the classic 1939 swing tune by the Woody Herman Orchestra (and their biggest hit!), is a new weekly Tuesday swing dance event held at the beautiful historic Verdi Club in San Francisco. It features an all-ages dance party with a different live band each week and a basic drop-in lesson, Beginning and Intermediate monthly classes in Lindy Hop and Balboa, a large 2500 square-foot dance floor, and a full bar and lounge (21+ only). Brought to you by Hep Jen and Ken Watanabe, the long-time regular instructors and organizers at San Francisco’s Lindy in the Park.
$10 admission includes a basic drop-in swing dance lesson. Let's get your non-dancing friends dancing!
THIS WEEK'S BAND: The Hot Baked Goods
The Hot Baked Goods are a band of young jazz musicians playing hot tunes of the 1930's. Most of the band members started as swing dancers, and became so infatuated with the music that they decided to make some themselves! They have quickly become one of San Francisco's most popular swing dance bands!
