The panel will explore the history of federal immigration policy and how it informs our current situation. The recent sanctuary movement that has galvanized citizen groups also will be examined. We will find out how policy was developed for immigrant and refugee rights at the federal, state and local levels. We will learn more about migration, immigration law and constitutional protections.
