Groundbreaking new findings in neuroscience are finally explaining the transformational power of meditation.
This 2-hour experiential workshop is geared toward those who have never meditated, and those who are seeking a deeper understanding of the processes within.
Nan will guide you through various techniques, and will teach you how to access the neurological pathways that manage stress, inform our interpersonal experiences, and shape our assumptions. You will leave this workshop with a toolbox of techniques, and a new appreciation for how much you can influence your daily emotions, attitudes and behaviors.
Nan Herron, M.D., is a psychiatrist specializing in PTSD who, early on in her career, realized that yoga and meditation were invaluable adjuncts to traditional Western medical interventions – not only for her patients but for herself as well. Nan has spent 25 years working in locked psychiatric facilities, helping folks figure out what specific therapies are right for them.
Nan is a certified yoga teacher and is trained in various meditation modalities, including mindfulness–based stress reduction, mindful self-compassion, and trauma-informed mind/body program. Nan spends her mornings on locked psychiatric units, and her afternoons hiking and investigating the cuisine of the amazing Bay Area, and constantly enjoys cultivating the art of gratitude.
