Mission Dolores Park
19th & Dolores Street, San Francisco, California 94114
It's no lie to say we're living under constant attack! Assaults on our equality, freedom, families, health and safety just keep coming. It's overwhelming.
Yes, we're fighting back!
But that can be exhausting.
And, organizing can hurt when it reveals the gaps between us.
Where we're strangers to each other
Where we carry wounds and resentments
Where we feel threatened
Sometimes it feels hopeless — like we'll never come together!
But we must come together. We need each other now more than ever.
What to do?
HAVE A PICNIC!!!
Yep, you heard that right.
No agenda. No speakers. No manifesto. No marching. No permits.
Just come to the park to spread out a blanket, catch some sun, rest and share space, stories and food.
Self-care is sexy! So let's hit «pause» on the Resistance — just for an afternoon — and give each other space to BREATHE and to BE TOGETHER.
If that sounds good to you, come to Dolores Park Saturday, August 12 from noon to 3 pm.
Create the People's Picnic:
Bring your open heart
Bring your intention to create safe space
Bring some food and refreshments* to share
Bring some comfort (blankets, towns, accessories)**
Let's give each other permission to relax and unwind, to be good to one another, to share our stories and ourselves.
Say hello to people you DON'T know and expand your connections in community!
Look for the Rainbow Peace Flag!
*All types of «refreshments» & beverages welcome
(no glass as per Park Rules)
** Sunshades open on one side and umbrellas are allowed on the grassy areas. However, they cannot be staked or dug into the ground. Chairs and pop-up tents are not permitted.
