Zach Wyner & Anita Barrows will read from their recently published books, and discuss the ways in which artists are striving to tackle the kind of subject matter that might affect positive social change.
Wyner’s novel, What We Never Had, published by Rare Bird Books, is a moving and humorous coming-of-age story that the San Jose Mercury news says, “delivers a tale of personal and political awakening with wit and empathy."
Barrows’ We Are The Hunger, published by Kelsey Books, is a collection of poems “telling intimate and necessary stories set in the harshest landscapes of our times…” (Susan Griffin)
Wyner and Barrows—son-in-law and mother-in-law—are thrilled to be on the same bill with themes that, while seemingly quite different, complement and intersect with each other, much like the array of struggles and conflicts in which we are currently engaged.
We'd love to see you there so you might join in the conversation!
