Performing fresh, original arrangements as dynamically diverse as Bach to blues, with rhythms and sounds from India, Africa, Bali, to Spain, Mexico and Venezuela, this trio creates an intimate and energizing musical experience that defies tradition. Informed by first-hand, in-depth experience of the music, people and cultures that inspire them, they bring alive the spirit that captivated them. With a penchant for improvisation and unexpected meters, their music is rich, nuanced and passionate, boasting a wide-ranging repertoire runs the gamut from contemplative to vigorous, on electric harp, cello, and various percussion.
The evening concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and run monthly on the second Sunday of each month. Tickets are an affordable $20 each, available from Brown Paper Tickets online, or at the door.
The performance is one in the «Second Sundays» Concert Series at the SF Swedenborgian Church, the monthly series is as unique as its historic setting. Presenting nine diverse concerts themed Pilgrims of the Heart featuring virtuoso performances that cross musical boundaries of culture and geography while expressing the universal strivings of the human spirit with rare traditional compositions in authentic and novel arrangements, as well as inspired original modern works.
The one-hour-plus evening concerts are held in the early Arts & Crafts style candle-lit sanctuary, a National Historic Landmark and an ideal, intimate setting for performances by the smaller instrumental and vocal ensembles that are scheduled. Both audiences and artists have remarked on the warm acoustics of the fire-lit sanctuary with raw madrone columns and rafters.
