--> Glow Science
With Ron Hipschman
8:00 p.m. | Bernard and Barbro Osher West Gallery, Kanbar Forum

There are many ways to make light, and all of them involve exciting atoms and molecules in some way. Join Exploratorium physicist Ron Hipschman to investigate some of the more colorful ways to make things glow.

--> Glowing Scorpions
With Classroom Safari
6:30–9:30 p.m. | East Gallery Corridor

Scorpions are outfitted with armor, pincers, and venomous stingers—and also happen to glow under a black light. Get to know the fluorescent features of local and exotic scorpions with wildlife expert Bonnie Cromwell.

--> Sunflowers
By Steve Dudek
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Ticketing Corridor

Stop and stay a while with Sunflowers, two five-foot sculptures composed of 273 laser-cut petals that bloom with shifting colors along Fibonacci spiral patterns.

--> Mini-Nova
With Abram Santa Cruz
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Bernard and Barbro Osher West Gallery

Gaze up at Mini-Nova, a pair of mesmerizing spheres made from metal and acrylic light tubes that explode with intense LED animations.

--> Reflecting Pool
With Ken Salter
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Bernard and Barbro Osher West Gallery, Black Box

Linger by Reflecting Pool, an interactive artwork that generates ever-changing images that emerge from video feedback and respond to slow, Tai Chi–style motions.

--> Cubatron Core
By Mark Lottor
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Bechtel Central Gallery

Bask in the cascading colors of this tremendous, torus-shaped sculpture by returning artist Mark Lottor. 26 feet in diameter, Cubatron Core is made of 3,840 individually controllable RGB LEDs.

--> Space Palette Pro
By Tim Thompson
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Phyllis C. Wattis Webcast Studio

Play a musical orchestra and paint animated visuals simultaneously in this uniquely immersive experience. No pre-recorded media, sequences, or loops are used; you create both the musical notes and visual sprites in real time by finger painting on pressure-sensitive pads.

--> Symmetrical Chaos
With Cliff Ingham and Guoyu Liu
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Bechtel Central Gallery

Find yourself as symmetry in chaos in this sculptural, multimedia installation. Explore Platonic solid structures animated by beautiful, chaotic visualizations, including a six-foot dodecahedron integrating live video, a selfie camera, and video feedback.

--> HoloSphere, InfiniCube, and InfiniSphere
By Gabe Levy and Mike Singletary
6:00–10:00 p.m. | East Gallery

--> Laser Demo
With the Explainers
6:00–10:00 p.m. | Bechtel Central Gallery

Unlike other light sources, lasers emit light of exactly one color, or wavelength. Take aim at the singular science of lasers through an interactive demonstration involving prisms, plexiglass, mirrors, and fog.

--> Glowing Bubbles
With Explorables
7:00–10:00 p.m. | Bechtel Central Gallery

Dip into a specially made fluorescent bubble solution and blow as many bubbles as you please while watching them drift and glow beneath a black light.
