How do you craft a seaworthy ship—to scale? Or scatter tiny raindrops on a miniature dock? Lorne Peterson shares stories from his years at Industrial Light & Magic, from work on Pirates of the Caribbean, to creating foam rocks that behave like real ones in Wild Wild West, or coaxing a model house to implode for Poltergeist.

Come in costume as any character from a Lorne Peterson film and receive a $5 discount on-site!

«Made for Movies» is a look inside the Industrial Light & Magic Model Shop with master visual effects artist and model maker Lorner Peterson. Hosted by Exploratorium exhibit developer Ron Hipschman. For more information on the series, please visit exploratorium.edu/visit/calendar/made-for-movies-landing-page.
