Berkeley Animal Rights Center
2425 Channing Way, Berkeley, California 94704
The protest working group is excited to offer its third Tier II Protest Training, a training that seeks to better equip activists for participating in high-intensity protests.
WHY: In order to make protests as effective, safe and empowering as possible, protests organized for the DxE SF Bay Area chapter are now divided into «Tiers». Everyone is welcome to attend Tier I protests, but activists wanting to attend Tier II and III protests are expected to undergo training.
WHO: This training is for activists who have attended approximately three other DxE protests within the last six months and are interested in doing more high intensity protests. People who have already taken this training are welcome to attend again, though the training will be very similar.
WHAT: The training includes a brief overview of DxE's protest goals and strategy, getting into events, responding to violence, a Know Your Rights training, and more. Each section will include hands-on practice.
WHEN: Saturday, January 20th from 2:00-6:00pm
WHERE: Berkeley Animal Rights Center (2425 Channing Way)
— Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Through open rescue, demonstration, and disruption, we are creating a world where every animal is safe, happy and free.
DxE cultivates a welcoming and supportive community. We ask that all those who attend our events (online and offline) respect our Code of Conduct which can be reviewed at dxecodeofconduct.wikispaces.com/Code+of+Conduct.
