What a perfect way to spend a beautiful Saturday hiking
under the shade of 200 year old Redwood trees,
feeling the cool water of Berry Creek splash over your toes & discovering the beautiful waterfalls!
A strenuous loop that encounters picturesque waterfalls & beautiful redwood groves. Long hike through old-growth redwoods to shimmering waterfalls is a Bay Area favorite.
The 10-mile loop starts at park headquarters & descends by way of the Sunset Trail to Berry Creek Falls.
The total elevation gain is about 1800 feet.
What to expect:
A moderate hike on a wide & level terrain (an old fire service road) & an extra one mile hike to the waterfalls!
Plan on a few hours of hiking into/out of the falls & an hour hiking in/out plus a stop for a picnic lunch.
The hike will be moderate pace — perfect for beginners but fun for experts!
A great hike;
Light snack, picnic lunch & yummy surprise;
A friendly UD host.
Attire: Make sure to wear athletic attire & sturdy shoes (hiking boots or sneakers)!
Don't forget good vibes, energy and more water for yourself! :)
