→ Settle in for a night of storytelling, starting with a sneak peek of Sachi Cunningham’s surfing docu-series, «One Wave», and a panel of big wave surfers. They'll talk about what it’s like to compete in the legendary Mavericks competition near Half Moon Bay.
→ Learn about the people and organizations taking care of our unique coastal ecosystem and the wildlife that depends on it by chatting with the The Marine Mammal Center, Pacifica Beach Coalition, Golden Gate Audubon, and more.
→ This month at Adult Chemistry, head outside to The Terrace Restaurant & Bar to learn about the science of bubbles while enjoying sparkling wines and effervescent bites.
→ Enjoy a nighttime dive show in our Philippine Coral Reef tank, and catch two special screenings of NightLife’s new art and music experience, «Vortex 2.0», in the Morrison Planetarium.
→ The Ornithology & Mammalogy department highlights California’s incredible marine ecosystem, with scientific specimens and skulls from the Academy’s world-class research collections.
→ At the Project Lab, join the Greater Farallones Association, Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, Presidio of San Francisco, Pedro Point Surf Club PPSC, and Sustainable Surf to learn about why our state’s coastal ecosystem is so important and how they're inspiring environmental stewardship.
— Last entry for our Rainforest dome is at 7:45 pm. Please note: drinks are not allowed inside the Rainforest exhibit.
— Planetarium passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Early event arrival is strongly recommended due to limited capacity and high demand for passes.
— Enjoy a different fresh seasonal «craft on draft» cocktail at each NightLife bar area. All bars accept cash and credit cards.
— A variety of food options are available at NightLife, including The Academy Café, The Terrace, and a food cart located in the front lobby.
— Special programs and lectures may have limited seating and admission will also be made available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
