Dr Joon Yun
Dr Joon Yun is President and Managing Partner of Palo Alto Investors, LLC, a hedge fund founded in 1989 with $2 billion in assets. Board certified in radiology, Joon served on the clinical faculty at Stanford from 2000-2006. Joon has served on numerous boards, and he is currently a trustee of the Salk Institute. Joon donated the $1 million Palo Alto Longevity Prize in 2013 to nurture innovations in longevity and recently donated $2 million to launch the National Academy of Medicine Aging and Longevity Grand Challenge. He has also been to Burning Man the past 18 years.
Allison conducts research and coordinates the technical programs at Foresight Institute. Her research focus is on the reduction of existential risks, especially from AI safety. At Existentialhope.com she keeps an index of readings, podcasts, organizations, and people that inspire an optimistic long-term vision for humanity. Allison speaks and moderates panels on existential risks & existential hope, AI safety, longevity, blockchains, ethics in technology. Allison holds a Summa Cum Laude MS in Philosophy & Public Policy from the London School of Economics, her dissertation focused on creating a moral framework for Artificial General Intelligence via NLP.
