Medicine Making Mentorship with Karen Aguiar
Sundays, March 25th, April 29th, and May 27th – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (with a 1-hour lunch break)
This class is designed for serious medicine makers to improve their crafting. Western clinicians making their own products or those with herbal product lines will find this class series invaluable. Karen will discuss all that goes into making plant and cosmetic products that are well-crafted and effective. Starting with cleanliness, both of the physical space and of the mind, and moving into chemical constituents of plants and the proper extracts methods. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will be covered as well as the required record keeping. She will begin the 3-part course with water and alcohol soluble extracts. The second class will cover herbal products added into oil or fat bases. The final day will include the complexities of mushrooms and 1 to 1 extraction methods.
Karen has been making botanical and mushroom medicines since 1995. We are fortunate to have her at the center. She is also the organizer of the Fall Northern California Women’s Herbal Symposium. Her website is: womensherbalsymposium.org.
Cost: $375.00 for the full course or $150.00 for each Sunday
