Cal Alumni Association - UC Berkeley
1 Alumni House, Berkeley, California 94720
In commemoration of UC Berkeley's 150th, the Graduate Assembly, in partnership with the Graduate Division and the Cal Alumni Association, is proud to present a talk on the state of public graduate education featuring Senator Nancy Skinner and Chancellor Carol Christ. The conversation will be moderated by Kena Hazelwood-Carter, President of the UC Berkeley Graduate Assembly.
Chancellor Christ and Senator Skinner, a UC Berkeley alumna, will speak of the transformative power of public higher education, and the important return on investment that California receives from supporting graduate level education. The leaders will tackle the challenges facing graduate education, including funding, diversity, and recruitment and retention of students and faculty.
The exciting evening will begin with a reception from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by dialogue from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Entrance to the event is free, but the Graduate Assembly asks for a suggested donation of $15 to support UC Berkeley's graduate students.
