Beverage: Homemade Cherry-Infused Vodka
As always, we'll start our dinner with a cold shot of vodka infused with fresh berries, herbs, or fruits.
Course 1: Salo
One of the tastiest treats in East European culinary tradition, salo, is a low-meat high-fat salted companion often used to chase with vodka. We'll serve it with a thin slice of rye bread and some spicy condiments.
Course 2: Assorted Pickles
These seasonal homemade pickles go perfectly with vodka. We'll show you how we drink in Ukraine!
Course 3: Sauerkraut Pierogi
Wonderfully delicious pierogi stuffed with homemade sauerkraut and mashed potato. Served with fried mushrooms and a dollop of sour cream.
Course 4: Meat Pierogi
Another type of pierogi. These babies are stuffed with a delicate mixture of cooked pork, beef, and onion. Served with sour cream and fried onion.
Course 5: Sour Cherry Pierogi
Sour cherries and pierogi is a perfect marriage of ingredients. We'll serve them with a little bit of butter and sour cream on the side.
Course 6: Trubochki
We'll finish our dinner with delicious puff pastry cones with a Swiss meringue filling.
